AWS Pet Thrift Shop

As much fun as a basket of puppies! Our monthly Pet Thrift Shop opens Saturday April 8th. We offer lots of bargains on new and gently used pet items such as carriers, crates, pet clothes and costumes, dishes, grooming tools and much more.

OUR SINCERE THANKS AND APPRECIATION!

The 2017 Give Local Greater Waterbury and Litchfield Hills Event is now over. For all who donated, volunteered and assisted in the event, and to the Connecticut Community Foundation and Ion Bank – we are grateful and appreciative.

Calling New Volunteers!

Join us for an introductory information session on volunteering at AWS. Held the first Tuesday of every month at 5:30, you can learn more about how you can help. There are many options to assist at the shelter or with events and community outreach programs.

AWS is thrilled to be recognized by the Petco Foundation for our lifesaving work. We received a $3,500 grant that helps us continue to care for and find responsible, loving homes for the homeless pets in our area. Thank you Petco Foundation!

KICKS 105.5 FM brings you the PET OF THE WEEK every Monday at 7:10 a.m. Pet of the Week is presented by the ”Adopt and Save Program” at Agriventures Agway and the Animal Welfare Society in New Milford.

If you are interested in adopting a cat or dog, please stop in and fill out an application. There are many wonderful cats and dogs awaiting their forever homes. If adoption is not an option for you, there are several other ways you can still help... become a member, sponsor a pet or volunteer some of your free time by walking dogs, cleaning cages and more. At AWS we would like to see that each and every cat or dog that enters our facility finds a loving permanent home. In the meantime, all of our residents are loved and cared for by our many devoted employees and volunteers.

ANIMAL WELFARE SOCIETY, INC. An independent, non-profit, non-destroy organization founded in 1965. AWS provides shelter, medical care and food to animals in the New Milford, Brookfield, Bridgewater, Roxbury and Washington area.
