ANIMAL WELFARE SOCIETY, INC.
An independent, non-profit, non-destroy organization founded in 1965. AWS provides shelter, medical care and food to animals in the New Milford, Brookfield, Bridgewater, Roxbury and Washington area since 1965.
If you are interested in adopting a cat or dog, please stop in and fill out an application. There are many wonderful cats and dogs awaiting their forever homes. If adoption is not an option for you, there are several other ways you can still help... become a member, sponsor a pet or volunteer some of your free time by walking dogs, cleaning cages and more. At AWS we would like to see that each and every cat or dog that enters our facility finds a loving permanent home. In the meantime, all of our residents are loved and cared for by our many devoted employees and volunteers.

The shelter is in need of canned cat and dog food. We are also in need of a computer monitor if anyone has one that they are no longer using. Like most non-profit organizations, we have a list of items we normally use at the shelter which do not always fit into our budget. We gladly accept donations of (or financial contributions toward) items on our Wish List.

GOES NATIONWIDE
$4 Million Pledged to Find Homes for 5,000 Shelter Pets
The fourth annual Maddie's® Pet Adoption Days is sure to be one for the record books. On June 1 and 2, 2013, shelters and rescue groups from communities across the nation will participate in the adoption event, which will place thousands of pets into their forever homes. Maddie's® Pet Adoption Days is America's biggest free pet adoption event.
